work, work, work......

and more work. Praise the Lord, He has provided the work. I have been working 6 days at the Post office since the first of the year. They have even trained me for the one route that I had not been trained. That is 4 routes for our little post office. Maybe I will be able to do them all one day without a 'cheat sheet'. Ha-ha......I can do three without so if I am able to run the 4th one more, I will be able to know ALL of the area of Robeline. One route is only 2 hours, approx. 23 miles long. Another is 94 miles, this is the one I have been on since I first started subbing. Another is 123 and the one I am just learning is 127 miles. I was offered a position at Atlanta, La. This town is approx. 45-50 miles from our home. It was already filled by the time Laura called and checked on it. Laura is our OIC. (officer-in-charge) I would have been promoted to a career position instead of subbing for someone. Some day..........

One reason I have been working more is that one of the regular carriers has stage 4 cancer of her throat. She is going to have to have her voice box removed along with her vocal cords. The cancer is also in some of the lymph nodes. Her husband had open heart surgery on the 12th of this month. The same week that Brenda found out that she has this cancer. Both are out of work because of illness. This couple needs prayers for health, finances, etc. Duane and Brenda.

We had a quiet Christmas this year. It was just Lyndsy, Jack and I. We didn't go to any of the married children that live here and because of the other side of the house they did not come here.

One of our daughter-in-laws, Linda, had her thyroid removed. It was cancerous. She is not having to have chemo or radiation, because the 'spot' was so small inside the thyroid. Her vocal chords was partially paralyzed. She is not able to sing until it renews itself. The Dr. said her voice should come back in a few weeks.

Another daughter-in-law, Shelli, had a biopsy on one of her breasts. She has not heard the results of this biopsy yet. We are praying that it is not cancerous.

Have you heard of so much cancer? I think that maybe the preservatives in the food we buy could be the cause. Don't know, but maybe? Could be?

I still do NOT have my jeep fixed. The dealership where I had been taking it has closed. The closest one is 1 1/2 hours away. I cannot leave my jeep when they have no auto for me to drive while it is being fixed. I need an automobile for my job. I do not have a horse and buggy to take its place to deliver that mail. I called jeep headquarters awhile ago and their computers were updating, normal excuse, so they could not see what they have done to it. Maybe I will be able to get something done before too long. I may have to get a lawyer to help them along?

It is cool here this morning. It is now 74 degrees, cloudy, and windy. They are saying that we may have ice in the morning. I hope not. These people here in the south do NOT know how to drive in snow or ice.

I've got to get to the website to type questions for Children's Bible Quiz. We are to have the district invitational quiz on Feb. 7. I am the director at our church. We have 8 quizzers this year. 2 boys and 6 girls. I have 3 in the Red Level with the rest in the Blue Level. Red is 1st-3rd grade. Blue is 4th-6th grade. We have been studying Exodus this year. The reason I need to type questions is, every time the quizzers quiz at district, we have a quiz meet at our church. For every quizzer, we have a 'volunteer adult' to quiz against them. Some times this is very challenging for the adults. The children LOVE it.

Hope you all have a great day in the Lord's presence. He is soooo good to us. Let us be a great witness for Him.

Praise God that you have been able to get so much work! I'm sorry to hear that one of the carriers and her husband are having so much physical distress right now. We will put them on our prayer list.
