Gas Prices???

Well, they did it!! Yesterday at RaceWay gas was $3.529 and this morning at 5:30am it was $3.699. WOW! What a jump! Would you call this price gouging? I don't know if that is what THEY would call it, but sounds fishy, huh?

Yes, I have a full tank of gas at the present time. We have water set aside for drinking and cooking. Jack has the yard mowed. Yes, we are trying to be prepared. This is going to be a major storm. Hurricane Rita hit us when Katrina did not. Mostly because of where we live. Hurricane Gustav looks like it could come to visit us according to the predictions from the weather station. We will see.

Hope you are all having a great day...and depending on when Gustav visits and if he kills our electricity, I will try to get back and let you know how we are fairing.

Love to all,

Mary, I had a great day yesterday on my birthday and another one today! Kirk and stacy and kids came for breakfast-actually brunch- this morning. Kevin and Cory,Danielle and Maggy, and Dakota came for barbecue tonight along with our friend Earline. Ron grilled pork steaks and they brought baked potatoes, green beans, rolls and cake and ice cream. Kristopher is here, too. He will go home to Columbia on Monday afternoon.
Thanks for keeping us informed about the preparations for Gustav. I pray it doesn't land with as much force as they think is possible. You will be in our prayers! Judy

I am so glad so many were able to 'help' you celebrate!
Yes, it looks like it is going to come straight toward us. Altho, it is going to be a tropical storm by the time it really gets to us. They are predicting the winds to be up to 65-70 mph at our home, along with lots and lots of rain.
Thanks for the prayers.
Love ya. Mary
